lupwu : wolf
The Illunse word for wolf is lupwu. In the Micronesian language of Ponapean, kehpin lupwu is a variety of yam. Similar name Lupwe is a city in Nigeria.
This word is a mixture of the Latin word for wolf which is lupus, and the Old English word for wolf which is wulf.
This word is admittedly odd, so I'll see if it sticks. It was difficult having U as my only available vowel.
